Hey gay rights fascists: in spite of your Mozilla victory, you will still lose

I was planning on posting something about this debacle however Matt Walsh did a perfect job of telling it just the way it is, so here it is in its entirety :

The Matt Walsh Blog

Dear gay rights militants, dear progressive tyrants, dear liberal fascists, dear haters of free speech, dear crusaders for ideological conformity, dear left wing bullies:

You will lose.

I know you’ve got legions of sycophants kowtowing to you these days, and the rest you’ve set out to destroy — but you will lose.

So, you’ve tracked another dissident and skinned him alive. You’ve made an example of Brendan Eich, and now you dance joyously around his disemboweled carcass. You have his head on a spike, and you consider this a conquest in your eternal crusade to eradicate diversity and punish differing opinions. You launched your millionth campaign of intimidation, and now another good man has been dragged through the mud, to the sounds of taunting and jeering and death threats.

You found out that the CEO of Mozilla gave a few dollars to support a pro-traditional marriage ballot measure several…

Mr. Obama, maybe folks are mad because you’re a liar

The Matt Walsh Blog

Dear Mr. Obama,

Congratulations on getting 7.1 million people enrolled in Obamacare before the March 31st deadline!

Not to muddy the festivities by harping on technicalities, but I thought I’d pass along just a few corrections, in case you plan on giving anymore speeches or anything:

Alright, by ‘March 31st’ you mean ‘sometime in April,’ and by ‘deadline’ you mean ‘suggestion which is subject to change.’

And, obviously, by ‘enrolled’ you mean ‘people who have filled some information out on a website.’

And by ‘7.1 million’ you mean ‘probably like 858 thousand or something.’

In your speech on Tuesday, when you said that Obamacare is ‘the law’ and ‘it’s here to stay,’ you really meant that Obamacare is ‘a fluid and constantly adjusted set of unconstitutional decrees, which can be imposed or withdrawn by the Executive Branch at any point, for any reason, up to 21 times and counting.’ And by ‘here…

In memory of Glenn Beck’s father..

What is it about some people, I just don’t understand.. I mean generally speaking we all have a father or father figure that we love, admire, look up to etc.. And if we lost that person it would damage us sincerely.
Even knowing that we would see them again in heaven (for people of faith) or people who can say goodbye in their own way this would be difficult for anyone.

For someone in the public eye who loses their father most people pray for them or make a kind gesture, right?

I mean when a famous person dies a horrific death by accident or drug overdose then the whole world sends well wishes, right?

So explain to me the one jack ass on Facebook that comments “One down, one to go..”

Seriously? Why would you even make that statement of someone at their lowest point? Why would you be that emotionally destructive?

This world is going to hell in a hand basket especially in the political arena, and here is a man trying to tell the truth to a world that spends every moment blind to the situation, or hoodwinked by the agenda of Resident Obama and still Glenn Beck holds true to his morals and stands up to the Giants in Washington DC.

Regardless of your beliefs Glenn Beck doesn’t judge you, or look at the color of your skin, or sexual orientation and he is in a painful situation that we all can understand, right?

So why bash him in this instance? Human nature would dictate that we be there for one another in the times of need, right?

Or am I wrong?

Woe is the person who makes despicable statements because sir you truly are lost.. You need to find the truth, and the true path of humanity and human nature and what is Right.

Regardless of your political standings or beliefs..

R.I.P to the father of Glenn Beck, much respect and prayers for you and your family.

God bless you for being you and for taking the hard road.

Magic Thought…

Hey gang,

Oddly enough I have always rather enjoyed seeing all those goofy late night commercials.

Starting around midnight you get to see all kinds of choppers, make money online from home, non stick cookware, all types of stupid crap you buy one get one so that you end up with two things you won’t use.

As people we are always looking for that great deal to supposedly save us big bucks and get a quality product.

I fall for it all the time and so do you. Admit it, we all do it. One item is $1.50 and we may or may not buy it, but if that same item is priced 3 for $5.00 we will snatch it up.

Why? Cause it’s a great deal right? Umm No.. You paid full price for all 3 plus 50¢.

It’s our way of looking for quality and a great deal. I understand and you do as well and we fall for it because money doesn’t grow on trees and because the company selling said products think we are stupid, not to mention greed drives the train at most companies.

All and all if you’re like me you do the best you can.
What does this have to do with magic? I mean we are all magicians here of one type or another correct?

Unfortunately this has a huge effect in the magic community and I wasn’t aware of it till recently. Once I realized that this was going on I had to say something.

Let me explain what I’m talking about and then get your opinions on this, because maybe I’m just crazy..

You ever get an email saying blah blah blah 1000 bucks a day is yours all you have to do is pay us 2000 bucks and follow this simple pyramid scheme and tada blah blah?

So out of morbid curiosity because maybe it’s not a scheme and my kids need new shoes or what have you, you click on the link.

It opens up a web page that has lots of color and an eye catching logo and probably a video.

As you scroll down the page there are testimonials and bar graphs.

Lots of pictures of successful people who got rich using this product or program.

As you keep scrolling down the page seems to go on forever… Down and down giving you a list of things that are worth thousands of dollars but wait..

Here is another list of items worth even more money… But wait there is more.

So now it says the stupid prices for all this stuff and it’s usually enough money to buy a new car but for the next hour they will give you all this and more for 97 bucks.

Then at the very bottom of the page they have decided that if you order right now it is all yours for 47 bucks.

If you have ever been online you have seen one of these pages. They are actually called a splash page or landing page because once you “land” on it and see all the “splash” of colors they are hoping you like a fish will swallow that big ole hook of bull shit and buy this high priced junk.

It’s a sad fact but people fall for this all the time.

It makes me sick to see it but makes me even more sick to see magicians getting in on this scheme.
I get emails daily from several of them and they all promise the same damn thing..

“If you buy my program today then in just a couple of minutes you will be amazing your friends.”

“Yes you will be doing tricks just like David Blaine and Criss Angel in mere moments.”

Let’s take this a step further though..

Even mainstream magic websites use the phrases “easy to do”, “no practice needed”, and my favorite “5 minutes after watching this dvd you will be doing this perfectly”.

Now you may be saying to yourself but as a magician those statements could be true depending on your skills and understanding of magic principles and what not.

Ok your right to an extent however I have been doing magic for over 25 years and I have never opened a trick or dvd and not practiced my ass off to make sure I have it perfect before I ever even think about performing it.

Let’s face the facts here, if you were interested in magic, completely new to it would you consider the trick TNR to be easy to do? Self working?

I have seen a website using those two phrases for that trick.

Or my favorite things to see is a magic website offering items at 80% off then marking the original price up 100% or more so that if you buy it from them you can be paying more than it costs on the magicians website who created the item.

Here is my primary problem with these kind of actions by the websites.. Anyone who is trying to get into magic spends a huge amount of money and ends up getting very little for it. Not only that if you want to get into magic you are going to have to put in the effort or your going to suck.

Practice is a very important factor in learning the art of magic. Presentation is very important as well. So from the very beginning this way of thinking, that it is easy, that practice is optional, this sets the person up to fail.

Once they fail the person no longer cares about magic so we lose what could have been a great magician and on top of that we end up with one more person showing secrets on YouTube, and doing it poorly to boot.

Why is this happening?

The quick buck. Make as much money as possible right away instead of making a comeback customer who loves magic.

It is a sad statement of what some people are turning the magic community into..

What do you think?

Is it quantity instead of quality?

What has happened to this craft we are apart of, that we love?

Are we failing the next generation because of a quick buck or is it because street magic is all the rage now? Oddly enough I have never seen street magic except when someone is making a dvd..

Just saying..

One entry from our Holiday Giveaway..

Hey gang just wanted to share one entry from our Holiday Giveaway.. Time is running out..

Search and Destroy by Aaron Fisher

Hey gang,
How are you all?
Has the turkey worn off yet?
I am still craving turkey lol..

So lets start things off very simply..
This is for all the magic people out there..
Everyone else can continue to read I am not giving away any secrets.

How many magic dvds have you seen? How many tricks have you purchased that included a dvd?
I am guessing quite a few depending on how long you have been into magic.

I have been doing magic for maybe 27 or 28 years and I have seen a lot.
Here is the dirty little secret..

There is a whole lot of bull shit out there.

The trick may be brilliant in its execution but the dvd is piss poor quality or the “magician” has horrible teaching or presentation skills.

I have bought magic tricks recently from top magic websites and the dvd teaching the trick is 10 minutes long with 7 of those being demonstration with real people.

So here is my question.
Why are your tricks so expensive when the quality is like an instant download?

Something to think about.

Okay on to the review…

If you are tired of getting low quality for high cost then my advice is RUN, don’t walk over to and order Search and Destroy.

It’s that simple.

This dvd by Aaron Fisher is an hour and a half of pure genius. That’s right I said 90 minutes.

It has no filler, it’s just 100% teaching.

Aaron goes into every single nuance and covers every single step you need to know to not only perfect and perform this awesome trick, but he also shows you how to make any and all your performances of any trick better.

He covers stance, card handling, practice, control, timing, misdirection just to name a few things. He packs years of experience into this dvd and he does it with absolute grace and…

No ego.

He even teaches something many magicians forget and that is how to make the spectator not only feel at ease but enjoy taking part in the effect.

You make them the magician and with his instructions it is effortless and fun for everyone involved.

Sounds great right?

There is more, much more…

That alone would be worth what you paid for this dvd but Aaron Fisher decided to add more.

What did he add you ask?

He then proceeds to teach you how to perform the Nowhere Pass which is his version of the Bluff Pass.

Widely considered a technique only for experts, Aaron Fisher has dissected and improved upon this so that anyone can not only master it but use it.

Regardless if you are a brand new card magician or a seasoned professional this dvd, which brings two of the marquee items from Aaron Fisher’s book The Paper Engine into high quality video, should be on the top of your list of necessary items for every magician.

The dvd stars Aaron Fisher of course and the music is by Dana Hocking. The director is none other than Wayne Houchin.

Wayne Houchin is not only one of the greatest creative minds in magic today but also a great teacher and just as brilliant behind the camera.

There are also two actual performances of Aaron performing Search and Destroy for real people, not people paid to act astonished like the way a certain Las Vegas Casino “magician” gets fans.

This dvd is top of the line, high quality, easy to understand, and super cheap for all you get.

So if you can’t wait for Santa to bring you this dvd click here to go order it yourself.
You won’t be disappointed.
